This ending in MMX3 I don't see it often because I always sacrifice Zero at the fortress in order to have the Z-Saber. 
But I also Admit that here it's just a way for me to get rid of Zero. Having too many characters make things more complicatie for the story and I needed to have him out. And like this is better than kill him (because if he dies he will find a way to come back… again and again).
