If your confused then you were not paying attention. Remember back when Knothole Sonic was mistaking for evil Sonic? Well Kirby was with Megaman and Freezeman they fought them. So using that it's plain to see that Kirby is a hero fighting against Dark Sonic and he works for Dr. Light and Dr. Wily.
