The tarantula man is actually taken from an rpg produced by Jared Sorensen, owner of www.memento-mori.com and publisher of an RPG called Lacuna. When I started this comic, I sent him an e-mail.
There are a lot of things in this comic that were inspired by Lacuna. To be entirely honest, I consider it, in part, to be a fan comic ;)
This week on How to Make Friends and Influence People with Mr. Spiderhead, we learn how to make people feel guilty about any good deeds they may have done … thus making them feel dependent on us! It's BEAUTIFUL! And it WORKS! Tune in next week for more information on how to … (multiple voices) MAKE FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE *voice over announcer chuckles kindly* Thanks everybody, and good night …
@ albone: heh. yeah. Mr. Scary doesn't get invited to very many parties. Poor Mr. Scary :-p
@ kiandranishan: Most of the inking is done by hand, with digital touch-ups. In this case, the speech bubbles are a layer in photoshop set to have a stroke around it… makes the choppy edges and holes a piece of cake.
@ amanda: hee. Thanks! I've toyed with a few projects that used the same speech bubble style, but never got any of them off the ground… so it's time was due :-p
yes, they be cool looking speech bubbles…well, the whole thing is cool…do you ink by hand or on the computer? if by hand, my hands hurt just thinking about it.

Yikes, never fun to hear criticism about yourself, and Mr. Scary is full of the criticism.
