Author notes
Many don't realize that spell-casting folk want nothing more than to curl up with a good book on the theories and musings of incantations. And at the least they'll be buried behind those musty tomes for decades. No, they'd be more than happy to give the dirty work to the sword-wielding heroes. Think about it - when's the last time you've seen a wizard at the front of battle, charging in to win the day? Maybe the reason wizards dwell in extremely tall towers or mountainsides is so that they can keep people away .
