Author notes
Before you start going on a rampage of checking every food label in your household, I can assure you that corn will be on there in one form or another! And if it doesn't appear in the nutrition facts, it is there in spirit. It seems we can credit the Mayans with just about everything: advanced knowledge of astronomy, predicting the apocalypse, and most importantly, a life centered around corn (or maize)! To them, corn was a way of life. And now to us, we can't go a day without eating it. People need to realize just how important this crop is to us. Spread the word!
