Bust Shots: Orbit

As any superhero geek who makes his own will tell you, every now and then one of the BIG TWO (and maybe even Image sometimes) will come up with a character who is painfully similar to one's OC's.

Maybe they have a character that has the same name.
Maybe they have the same power.
Maybe the costume is similar… You know the drill.

This has happened to yours truly several times, but no instance has bugged me more than with Orbit and Marvel Comics' Gravity.
I mean, it's not JUST that he has a similar costume AND powers AND he's a teenager, but, ALL FRIGGIN THREE!!
it's as though These guys have actual telepaths on the payroll or something!!
I'm not saying they stole the idea. That's just ludicrous. But still… That is one of the reasons I killed Orbit later on.
Yep. KILLED him.

Not just because of Marvel, but, also, later on in my DeviantArt space, I'd joined a group dedicated to OC supers. One of the kick-ass artists, NICK-OG also has a character called Orbit.
Same powers, similar costume.
(I figure if anyone can relate to the Marvel Gravity thing, it's him.)
So, that is why I originally killed Orbit when The original ThrillSeekers were put to rest.
I think I may change my mind this go-round, though, despite their being 2 similar heroes.

Anyway, at least this whole ordeal has generated my Favorite bit of Orbit fanart, given to me by the artist called MattCrap.

Mind you, if I DO decide to 'Un-Kill' Orbit, I will, of course, redesign his costume out of respect for Nick-OG and, well, for my own sanity.
