1-7 - Return of Toyroom SOS, and with a New Friend!
Kaji Motomiya onWARNING: BIG IMAGE IS BIG. This image MAY slow down your computer, as it's 5.33mb (not my fault) and may take a while to load (again, not my fault). That, or my internet's just been shitty recently…
-NOTICE-
Due to an unexpected turn of events and the lackage of a camera, there will not be a comic until January 28th. So for the time i have right now, I'm gonna try and work on some things…for the next Friday and two Tuesdays after this.
After an entire month or so, maybe half a month, of no (legit) releases and updates, I FINALLY put up another comic. I told myself, "I'll make a comic when my next toy haul arrives…" And when it came, I made sure to promise by posting the previous PSA. And now you have it.
The package actually came in on Tuesday, 1/10/11, a day after I sprained my ankle. lol The guy saw me in crutches and an ACE bandage (an elastic bandage) wrapped around my right foot and asked, "Were you playing basketball?" It's always hard to tell people that I slipped on ice after they ask me if I did something cooler than that.
figma Aigis was paid for almost around September 2010. Originally, I ordered figma King Kazuma from the anime movie, Summer Wars, but it sold out before I could preorder it. So I opted for Aigis instead, since I LOOOOVE Persona. Also, Aigis is a nod to DrunkDuck's own Strain42, the maker of the funny and currently #1 comic on DrunkDuck, Persona 3FTW. How will figma Aigis act in this comic?
Speaking of, somewhere in this comic is a coined phrase from P3FTW as a tribute to Strain42. Can you spot it? lol And look! Black Rock Shooter's first words!! =D
You may have noticed that on the 15th panel (the half-way mark), is a small tiny announcement. During that halfway mark were pictures I took that depicted the amazing feat of how the toys got from my bookshelf to my bed, which made some changes after the new year. Basically, the bed was moved from the wall adjacent and opposite to my door to the wall COMPLETELY opposite to my door while the bookshelf went from the back wall where my bed is now to the wall RIGHT next to the door. So yeah, you can imagine the HUGE space in between.
The photos were SO bad and rushed that I honestly couldn't add them to the comic. I lucked out that the final result ended up with an even 26 pictures, making 29 panels in the comic (one was reused twice, the announcement is also a panel). Deleted/scenes included the LONG trek around the room, using my standing crutches between the TV and computer desk to get across and figma Black Rock Shooter's most daring and badass use of my 2006 YAMAHA FJR 1300 motorcycle (I even tried to use the chains that came with her). Alas, some sacrifices were made for the better…
But welcome back to Toyroom SOS! Say hello to the new member, and enjoy for the rest of 2011!
-TOY/CHARACTER INTRODUCTION-
S.H. Figuarts Double LunaTrigger is the second of the three (and probably going to grow) Double Brothers. Out of the three, he is the most crass and perverted one of the bunch. He doesn't hesitate to state his mind and doesn't care how bad it sounds, even if it tends to get him (physically) hurt. Like CycloneJoker, LunaTrigger also shortens his name to LuTri, as well as the last syllables of his show counterpart's human names, Phillip (Firipu) and Shotaro, "PuRo". Despite shortening his name, he hates the two names and prefers "LunaTrigger" instead.
Figuarts TheBee, the one that looks like a wasp or bee of some sort, if you hadn't figured that out yet, is a sure, stand-up guy that thinks of everything. He's often sometimes one step ahead of the others, as he was part of the first set of Figuarts I bought, but the first one to ever be opened. Being able to read the situation ahead, he can easily tell when Dead Master's going on a rampage (or as LunaTrigger calls it, her plastic period), he does his best to calm her down and keep the chaos under control. He is one of the few toys on the shelf with the courage to stand up to her.
Figuarts Skull is the first Exclusive (and hella expensive) Figuart on the shelf. Arriving the same time and package as the Double Brothers, he acts as a mentor and father-figure of sort to them, as well as the other toys on the shelf. As a mentor, he's strict and demeaning, but as a family member, he is kind and forgiving (somewhat). When he's not teaching the other toys his wisdom, he shares his wisdom with the oldest toy in the room, Pooky (see comic 1).
