Aghh! Violence!

Jetta and Iggy unleash a righteous smackdown… but who's this floating head guy? You'll have to tune in next week to find out! Mwah ha ha haaa!

As a side note, is frequent uncontrollable evil laughter a serious health concern?

Mmmkay, so this is the third and final update for this week. Just two updates next week, on Tuesday and Thursday. Be there or be cubed, and remember to Like and Favorite this comic, so you don't miss any updates!

WHY YOU'LL NEVER VACATION ON JUPITER

In preparing for this comic, I tried to read as much science fiction as I could stomach. In one short story I read, an older story from like the sixties or seventies or something, there's a family in some far future setting and it's mentioned offhandedly that they recently took a brief vacation on Jupiter. That kinda got me thinking about a few things.

First off, if you're taking a “quick trip” to Jupiter, you'd need to be going crazy fast. At its closest, Jupiter is 588 million kilometers away, so to get there in, say, four days, you'd need to be traveling about 1700 kilometers per second (a little over 6 million kilometers per hour). That's crazy stupid fast, and even ignoring for a minute whether we can actually build something capable of safely reaching those speeds, there's a very common sense reason why we'll never live in a world where every household has a turbo-charged space cruiser ready to launch them off to Jupiter… at that velocity, if something were to go wrong, and you crashed into the Earth, or the moon, you'd explode with nearly as much energy as Tsar Bomba, the most powerful nuclear weapon ever detonated on Earth. We'd never live in a world where everyone gets to own their own doomsday device, so personal Jupiter travel is not likely to be in any of our futures!

* as you can see, I'm struggling to find interesting stuff to put in the author's notes!
