El Cid
on

Iggy's harmless; he just likes to run his mouth… erm, assuming he talks with his mouth… which I don't believe he does. Oookay, so all that was to send us back in time to the events which led our intrepid crew to their current predicament. I know that flashbacks and "picture frame" storytelling aren't everyone's cup o' tea, but it's a useful device here, especially given the vast travel times between locales. Next update, we'll visit Triton, jewel of the outer solar system, or something like that. I bet they don't call it that.

I seriously botched the fluid animation on this one, which was really the whole point of the animation, so it can safely be deemed a failure. But hey, at least I ultimately did come back and finish the series! So no one can say El Cid is a quitter. Well, okay, there was that one time, but aside from that, you can't call me a quitter. Unless you're lying. Or talking about one of those other times I quit.

###TECHNICAL NOTES###

The space nerds among you, and even the casual space gawkers, will likely notice that my Triton looks absolutely nothing like the actual moon Triton. That's because I couldn't find a high enough resolution map of Triton to make a decent model, so I ended up slapping together a mishmosh texture instead. My convenient excuse is that human activity on the surface has drastically changed the environment. Hey, if the IPCC can claim it, so can I!

Oh, and what are all those glimmery dots orbiting Triton and Neptune? Well, while millions of people work and play on the surface of Triton, many if not most of them actually live on orbiting space colonies.

Okay, that's enough for now. This comic's bizarre PG streak comes to an end with the next page, as I must warn you the Triton scene contains some rather "blue" imagery. But by now, you already know not to be reading this comic at work!

Catch ya later!
