016 - Disassemble Him

El Cid

Sorry, nothing overtly funny on this page, though some of you may get a snicker out of the overdone cheesy dialogue.

I said I wasn't going to bother posting anything else this week, but those of you who've followed me for any period in the past also know I'm not someone to be trusted. It's not that I lie; it's just that nothing I ever say tends to have any bearing on reality, that's all. Anyway, as it turns out, my recovery from the hard drive crash has come along faster than expected, if more than a little bit less smoothly than I'd hoped. But I've already gotten to a point where I'm working on new pages, so I think it's safe for now to be a little less parsimoniuous on the update schedule.

Also, while I was dragging along trying to get everything re-installed, I took the time to try out some alternative rendering options over what I'm using right now. DAZ Studio's new unbiased rendering option is pretty neat, if a bit slow. Here's one of my first test renders with it.

Pretty neat, for an early test render, though Jetta seems to have lost her tats and her tan (I have yet to delve into DAZ Studio's material editor). Most likely though, I'll stick with Carrara for the time being. DAZ Studio's still a bit too slow, and not a good option for putting together the kinds of large, often crowded scenes I tend to work with. But I might use it for a pinup or two here and there, if the comic needs some filler.

More to come next week. Thanks for stopping by, and reading, and commenting, and all that good stuff. Laterz!
