No animations today. I had the time, but couldn't think of anything to do an animation of.

Btw, I'm not campaigning for any nominations for this comic (except maybe Best Sci-Fi). It's still very new and hasn't accomplished much yet. Oh, and speaking of accomplishments, today NASA's New Horizons probe made its closest flyby of Pluto. It didn't actually land on Pluto or go into orbit around it (it's already over 37,000 km past Pluto at this point; that's how fast it's going). Space travel is kinda quirky; in order to stop a spaceship, you basically need to spin it around and fire your rockets in the opposite direction you were traveling (unless there's a big planet nearby with a lot of useful gravity or an atmosphere). The New Horizons probe used up most of its fuel just getting to Pluto, so it won't be returning back to Earth. Instead, it will continue its trajectory off into the Kuiper Belt, where it will photograph a few more transneptunian objects (TNOs). Here's a full color image of Pluto. There will be higher resolution images coming in later, and you should be able to find them on NASA's mission page.

This stuff's probably a lot more interesting to me than it is to you. A big part of this comic takes place at a fictional TNO, so it's really useful to finally have detailed pictures of what these things actually look like. (and also, it is pretty cool!)

See you later, everybody! Feel free to Comment, Like, and Favorite this comic, and don't forget to vote for the Drunk Duck Awards!
