027 - A Good Time

El Cid
on

Rather than fill the page with a bunch of “oohs” and “ahhs” and other extraneous sound effects, I wanted to see how this page would look if I just left the panels the way they are. Not sure if that experiment was a success or a failure.

I didn't notice it at the time I made it, but that first panel looks rather painful. I think that's mostly because of the camera angle, though. The hammock-thing they're in is at an incline, so Manu isn't perched upright with her leaning forward; rather, he's reclined back at an angle and she's on top of him at an upward-facing angle. And also, the lower gravity means there's a lot less force pulling her down, so he's not really trying to break her neck or anything! Still, though, a poorly chosen camera angle on my part, and I probably should have gone back and redone that panel.

I may need to dial back the update schedule a bit. I'm supposed to be posting new pages as I add new pages to the buffer, but I've sort of gotten ahead of myself there. And also, there may be a little bit of downtime at the end of the chapter (it should end around page 45 or thereabouts), because I've just about made my mind up that me and Windows 8.1 just aren't going to get along. So, once I've got the first chapter in the books, I plan on giving Windows 10 a try, and if that doesn't help, I'll just go ahead and downgrade back to trusty Windows 7.

I was going to do a science blurb post here, but there's a storm rolling in and I don't like to have my computer hooked up when there's lightning crashing down (I'm weird about stuff like that). So, I'll have it typed up and ready for next week's update. Also, next week you'll get a look at some “Cutting Room Floor” material.
