058 - Deleted Page: Spelunking

I guess I can't technically call this a deleted page if I'm posting it. So it's an un-deleted deleted page. I didn't really like how this page fit in with the interplay between Jetta and Ozzy, and it's also kinda weird, with the crazy sex messaging thing they're doing back and forth.

The whole “Pokebox” thing is maybe another “Monument to Shame” moment for me. Let me explain: They're supposed to be sending raunchy sex sims to each other, and originally I just had the sims contained inside of blank boxes with generic “Message from so-and-so” headings, but then I thought that looked too sterile and phony. Like, today when you send somebody an instant message or a tweet or whatever, you do it through an actual service, and their company logo and all that stuff is on it. So I came up with “Pokebox” and did a fake template for poke-messaging. The end result is… actually more confusing than if I'd just gone with the blank boxes to begin with. So this page is a mega fail in a lot of ways. But I posted it anyway, because it's still funny.

Speaking of deleted things, here's the last animation I did for the current running animation series. I discontinued it after this one:



I was mostly doing these animations to test some things, mostly working with a curved environment like what you'd see inside of a centrifuge. It'll be helpful for some of the later scenes that take place on board space stations. But there was really no point in continuing the animations past this point. In case you're curious what was going to happen, one of the monsters gets loose from its containment vat and saves the mysterious spy girl from the guard's amorous advances. Nothing too special.

There's a big kick-ass fight scene coming up, but first there's a few pages of blindingly dull dialogue to get through. So I'll probably sneak in another page over the weekend, just to get through it faster. For those of you who don't want to be bored to death and just wanna see the wicked cool battle carnage, you should probably just skip next week and come back the week after, when the fur (and numerous body parts) starts to fly.
