096 - Cups Runneth Over

Sort of a “filler” type of page here. There was originally supposed to be some scant dialogue here, but I ended up liking it the way it is. Just imagine some smooth jazz playing in the background. Or 70s porno music. Either works.

There are several pages in the upcoming sequence that I'm strongly considering for the chopping block. At least one page is definitely already going to be cut, and there's at least one more that's very very likely to never see the light of day. This page also almost got cut, for a number of reasons, but I had to keep it because the next page doesn't make chronological sense without it. And the next page is important because… well, I'll tell you when I post the next page. It's sorta kinda another spoiler. Inevitably though, some less-than-stellar pages will end up making the final cut, just because I need to milk my page buffer for all it's worth right now as I recover from Lighning Week! and just generally not being as productive as I should have been the last few weeks.

Oh, and, before I forget… there are a bunch of tie-breakers for the Drunk Duck Awards nominations, so if you want to vote on the tie-breakers, you'd better pop on over to the Tie Breakers voting page pronto, because there's only two days left. Sorry, probably should have notified you all sooner on that one, but it slipped my mind. This comic is up for a couple of tie-breakers, as I recall, but they're in weird categories like Best Layout. Now personally, I really like the way I do the panels for this comic. They're simplified, elegant, and distinctive… but I'd be shocked if I actually won an award for them, so I'm not sweating that nomination too hard.
