This animation picks up right where the last one left off, right after Agent Six's penis cannon went off. It doesn't make much sense if you didn't see the previous animation.

I know every blue moon, a new reader pops in and so if you're clueless as to what's going on with the animations, it's a semi-regular extra thing-a-whatzit I've been running in the author's notes for a while now. The first episode of this series can be found back on page 84. Coming up will be the exciting two-part conclusion of the series, so you won't want to miss that!

If you're trying to get caught up on what's going on in the comic, there's a brief summary of what this scene is about in the authors notes on page 92, and there's also here's a link to the complete chapter summary for Chapter 1. There will be a summary for this chapter after it's completed. I'm (very slowly) getting there!

I've been experimenting with a different rendering technique than what I normally use. Rather than rendering the whole thing in one go, I've been rendering the base image, shadows, and specularity all in separate channels and then combining them afterwards in Photoshop. It gives me a bit more control over things; I get to “paint in” the shadows and sheen to the strength I want. I've mucked around with it on a few panels here and there on earlier pages, but this is the first page where it seems to have paid off somewhat. It's not something I'll be using all the time, but it's fun to mess around with new tools every now and then.

Well, I hope you've enjoyed the rapid updates, because they're over! Finished! History! Last week was Lightning Week! and so I guess that makes this Thunder! Week. I didn't take the time to make a cool Thunder! Week logo like I did for Lightning Week! though. But then, I guess you can't really see thunder anyway, so it doesn't need a visual. Next week will probably only be a single update, and the pace of updates will generally be a lot slower than what it's been for the next few weeks. Between working on judging and my presentation for the Drunk Duck Awards, and trying to get my page buffer buffed back up, it makes sense to scale back temporarily. So we're done with Lightning Week! we're done with Thunder! Week, and next week will be… a power outtage. Sounds about right.

Catch ya on the flipside, party people.
