*NOTE: As you might have noticed, it's not customary on Neptune for married women to take their husband's last name. That's why Jetta refers to Ozzy's wife as 'Miz Vuco' rather than 'Mrs. Ozuna.' Just in case you were wondering; that was not a typo on my part.



Monday update! Why? Because I love you, that's why! Now shuddup, I gotta do a recap…

This chapter's maybe been a bit more drawn out than I intended it to be, so if you're a new reader scratching your head trying to figure out what's going on, and where can you go for a quick concise summary of the current situation… here's a quick concise summary of the current situation. This may also be useful for those of you who've been following the story… sort of… but drifted off at some point because it got too wordy and cumbersome and wasn't updating frequently enough. I know there's a lot of you out there too.




Ozzy (Caitano “Ozzy” Ozuna) is a member of Neptune's High Council. Part of his job on the Council had him in charge of overseeing a particularly nasty extinction-class superweapon known as “Rahu.” Through a combination of bad luck and incompetence, Ozzy appears to have lost Rahu while transporting it through the Kuiper Belt. Having ruled out the use of Neptune's secret service to retrieve the weapon, Ozzy as a last resort has turned to his underworld contact Rana for help. It's a dangerous game he's playing: Rana is the last person he wants to know about Rahu… but he sees no harm in using one of her operatives for the mission, in part because he knows the Council has already marked Rana for assassination.



Jetta Thorne is Rana's operative. Her exploits during a past war and subsequent space piracy have led her to drastically alter her appearance to evade capture. She gained Ozzy's trust and got him to divulge all he knew about Rahu, under the pretense that she was going to help him recover it. However it was all a ruse. Rana had sent Jetta not to help Ozzy, but instead she was sent to obtain information from him, and intimidate him into cooperating. All was going to plan, until Ozzy's wife showed up…



Rana is a powerful underworld figure on Triton. Exactly what she's up to is unclear at this point, but she does appear to be very interested in getting her hands on Rahu… which probably isn't good.
