Yeah, I know, you waited a whole friggin' week for this page and this is all that happened! I feel your pain, which is why this is the first of three pages that should be posting within two or three days of each other. None of these next few pages really works well by themselves, so I knew I'd need to post them close together. I'm pretty close now to having the buffer back up to where I want it to be, so two-per-week updates should go back to being a regular thing soon.

In other news, the Drunk Duck Awards appears to be delayed due to some behind-the-scenes goings-on. I think somebody forgot to pay the fee for the theater we were renting for the event, so instead now they're going to be holding it in an abandoned drive-in movie theater. There also may have been something about a Native American curse and a missing Tibetan mummy, but I'm fuzzy on the details.

Ever wondered what a comet looks like up close? Here are some beautiful images from the Rosetta spacecraft as it captured plumes of water vapor outgassing from Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. Ten years after its launch in March 2004, Rosetta rendezvoused with the oddly-shaped object and has spent the last two years orbiting and photographing it. Many of the stark black-and-white images it captured of the comet and its hallucinogenic landscape are quite haunting.

If you want to explore 67P/C-G for yourself, visit this link to the European Space Agency's interactive comet viewer. They have a fully interactive 3D model of the comet, with hot points to access all of the Rosetta spacecraft photos from throughout the mission. It's pretty neat.
