December!

* The event Ozzy is referring to in the second panel happened back on page 85. Considering how long-winded this chapter has become, it's understandable if you've forgotten!

I usually at least try not to be one to skimp on details and realism with my scenes, but with these last few pages, you'll notice the blood splatter is conspicuously absent. After having his arms shredded off, Ozzy's blood should be splattered all over the place, and globs of the stuff should still be floating around in Triton's low moon gravity. Seriously, this room should be absolutely painted with the stuff. But alas, it would have taken way too much time to retexture the entire room and all its props – not to mention the people – to show blood splatter, and on top of that my computer was giving me problems at the time as well. So I left it out. There is an explanation for it, though: Wadsworth the butler bot is feverishly vacuuming the particles out of the air, and also there are lots of little cleaning bots descending to clean up the mess. I actually added them into the upcoming pages. So there you go. I wasn't being lazy. Well, okay, I was, but now I have an excuse.

This isn't exactly news, and it's as random as it gets, but still I thought it was a neat image. We usually tend to think of the moon as being relatively close to the Earth – which it is, sort of – but it's still pretty far away. In fact, the average distance between the Earth and moon (384,400 km) is wide enough that you could fit all seven of the other known solar planets inside, with 8,030 kilometers to spare. Some years ago, a Reddit user by the name of CapnTrip cobbled together this snazzy picture to illustrate that. It's pretty rad. And by “rad,” I mean “radioactive.”

Happy Wednesday!
