There's fuckery afoot.

The rather conspicuous Large Empty Last Panel was due to a rewrite. In the original version of this page, there's a Big Dramatic Moment where Jetta and Rana exchange one last glance, and there's a panel where Jetta reacts with alarm at Rana's devilish smirk. The scene ends with Jetta knowing, or at least suspecting, what we the readers now know – that being that Manu is in even deeper doo-doo than we originally thought. I had to change it, because what Jetta does next would not have made sense otherwise.

That ends the scene. Sorry, no lesbian tongue wrestling or freefalling gunfights or anything here; just character stuff and plot. As you can tell, there's a lot of backstory between Rana and Jetta, and of course the whole business of how Jetta ended up on the wrong side of the law to begin with. With all the rewrites and trimming of fat from the story, I'm not sure how much of that I'm actually going to fit in. I may just end up going the Rick and Morty route: I'll put out enough information that it's clear that there is a past, but mostly leave it up to the reader's imagination and not bother dramatizing much or any of it out.

By the way, did you know that Rick and Morty got their start as an underground Back to the Future parody called 'The Real Animated Adventures of Doc and Mharti.' In the pilot episode, Mharti (Morty) goes back in time and changes history by licking on Doc's balls. Yeah. That happened. Humble beginnings, huh!

The next two pages are mercifully dialogue free. We're rapidly closing in on the final few pages of the chapter, and of course an end-of-chapter cliffhanger. You just gotta have one of those.

See you next week. Go Pats! (yeah, I said it)
