175 - Hostile Takeover

The hostile takeover has begun! There are lots of rules in a schlocky horror flick which you're best to not run afoul of, and one of the biggest is “never get separated from the group.” The bad guys just love to pick off the scrawny teenagers one by one, like lions taking out stragglers from a herd of gazelle.

Ula's wardrobe malfunction in that last panel was sort of an accident, and sort of not. Twisting her torso around like that caused her breasts to poke through her mini top. After trying for a minute or two to get it to fit back on her properly, I realized it would be easier (and more crowd pleasing) to just make it look like her top had pulled up instead.

Also, some quick news about the animated mini series: I've mentioned once or twice that I've been planning on continuing my animated version of the classic sci fi tale '50 Girls 50,' which I started last year but then got away from. Well, I've sort of cooled on the idea of picking that up again. There's no single reason why. I did recently see the movie 'Passengers,' which has a very similar concept to '50 Girls.' In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if that was the inspiration for that particular film. Regardless of what inspired it, the movie was turrible. It was so bad that it actually put me off the idea of continuing a project that is basically a more twisted version of the same story. So for the time being, that's on the shelf.

I started working on a series that's a continuation of the 'Insertion Burn' animation that I posted last week, but my first attempt ran into technical difficulties, so I've basically got nothing to show for it. So, just to be posting something, here's a 360 carousel view of Captain Savage in her snazzy pilot gear. I should hopefully have something worth actually looking at with the next update.

Voting for the Drunk Duck Awards closes on July 29th. That's less than a week away! So if you haven't voted yet, please take a few minutes to head on over to the ballot page and vote for your favorite Drunk Duck comics.

And just as importantly, if you're interested in judging the awards or doing award presentations, please visit the Volunteer Thread to find out how you can help make this year's awards show happen. The awards show is all volunteer-run, so it's up to volunteers like YOU to make sure everything goes off with a minimum of hitches.

That's all for today, folks. Tune in next time to see if Ula can squirm her way out of this fix.
