196 - Strange Behavior

El Cid

Curiouser and curiouser. Something's definitely not right with Nascha.

It would have made more sense for the guards' night vision to be blue rather than green, but since all the rest of the page is blue I figured it wouldn't be obvious enough that you're seeing a night vision effect. These final few pages are supposed to be taking place in the dark, because the pulse would have taken out the lights in Sector F. But doing all the panels pitch black wouldn't have been visually interesting (though they would have been easier to make!).

REFERENCES (for new readers)

mooner: The mooners are a subset of human colonists who have bio-engineered themselves to be better suited to living in non-Earthlike environments (asteroids, moons, subsurface oceans, etc.). The setting of this scene is in a space colony orbiting Neptune's moon Triton, so the mooners in this context are subterranean inhabitants of Triton. See my Kuiper Belt Bestiary for more on the mooners and other human subgroups who occupy this comic's fictional universe.

Osprey: Osprey is the malevolent deity/specter who has commanded Nascha and the other mooner terrorists to launch their attack on the colony. She is worshiped by the followers of New Dawn, a militant mooner sect in which Nascha, Panzer, and Woody are members. You can view her character profile here.

This chapter is part of a two-chapter mini story within the larger story. If you want to catch up with this current chapter, it began on page 154. Here's a link to the cover page. Because I made a cover page, and I want you to look at it. There will be a full recap of the plot up to this point when we return to the main story. Thanks for reading!
