FUN FACT: I had originally planned to have Governor Shelley played by none other than the incomparable Samuel L. Jackson, complete with tranny boobs and all. I had a Sam Jackson character model who was the limousine driver for the nefarious Mayor Sam White in Death P#rn (pages 245, 307). However, when I went back and reloaded that old model, I realized that maybe I'd been viewing the past through rose colored glasses. He was not a very good likeness, to say the least. Seeing as I would now need to start over from scratch, I decided to go with a different famous face. My thought process was: who would be the most hilarious person to cast as a vile, venal tyrant…

And why, you may ask, is the governor taking cocaine in ass butter form? I don't know, but it sounded hilarious.

In the movies, Tyrannosaurus Rex is known for its distinctive Earth-shattering roar. It's a sound almost as distinctive as Tarzan's yell. But how accurate is that? What did Sexy Rexy sound like in real life?

As far as paleontologists can tell, tyrannosaurs lacked the necessary vocal organs to roar, or even to chirp as birds do. Those structures did not develop in their descendants until after they diverged to start their own branches on the evolutionary tree. It can't be entirely ruled out that the Tyrant Lizard didn't independently evolved some other vocal organs of their own, but we may never know, because soft tissue structures like that don't tend to fossilize. From studying tyrannosaur skulls, as well as common vocalization methods used by their shared descendants, right now the best guess is that Tyrannosaurus would have been capable of hissing and closed-mouth vocalization. Here's a Youtube vid where they attempt to reconstruct what Tyrannosaurus would have sounded like. It's not as dramatic as the Jurassic Park roar… but it is pretty damn creepy.
