Sergei is now half the man he used to be.

Or, I guess technically he's still all the man he used to be; he's just in two different places. Or several, if you count all the bits of innards lazily dispersing throughout the cabin.

NOTES: Originally, Captain Savage's line in panel two was “Oh, Christmas!” but I thought it sounded too goofy and unlikely.

The image of our hapless lover boy split in two brings a disturbing thought to mind: I mentioned a long time ago in another blurb that it's possible for a human to survive with only half a brain. In fact, it's a somewhat mundane medical procedure to surgically remove half of a person's brain to treat some forms of severe epilepsy. So, here's the disturbing question: Let's say you were split in half, and medical science was such that they could save both halves of your body and restore them to health. Which of those halves is you? I'm sure they'd both say they were you… but they can't be. There's only one you, right? Right?!

Just wanted to help you start your day on a sunny note!
