AUTHOR'S NOTES

Another weekend update, because it's another page where nothing explodes and no one gets shot in the face. (At least not on *this* page!)

In case you didn't catch it earlier: The suspiciously red-eyed security dude is actually the mooner infiltrator Woody, who has taken over the body of one of the guards. Commander Ortega (“Benny”) became suspicious of him earlier when he broke etiquette by answering her “okee dokee” instead of “yes sir.”

Woody managed to gain access to the Control Room when Nascha's suicide attack forced the docking goons to station armed guards there, which is apparently an unusual event.







El Rulez recommended a Benny bio, which wasn't a terrible idea, so I'm happy to oblige here. Benny was originally meant to have a larger role in the final sequence of events, where Osprey manifests herself to the Docking Authority people and there's a big climactic showdown. I wrote all of that out because it added a bunch of unnecessary pages, not to mention it didn't make a lot of sense, so she's kind of a fringe supporting character in this final version that's actually seeing the light of day. Still, she's worthy of a bio!

BACKGROUND
Comm. Benedetta "Benny" Ortega took a meandering road to her current position as Commander of Security Operations for the Nova Dagon Docking Authority. During the tumultuous Ice Wars, Benny was a prolific smuggler, dealing arms, fissionables, and other supplies to every major faction. Known as "Fast Benny" at the time, Benny frequently partnered with fellow smuggler Captain Irene Savage.

After the conclusion of the war, Benny was among the thousands pardoned by the Neptune-Triton Commonwealth, who needed skilled people to help rebuild their ruined infrastructure and merchant fleet. Benny settled in to a placid domestic life and eventually climbed her way up the ladder to her current station, as a top ranking dock security official for one of Triton's largest orbital colonies. When mooner extremists try to destroy Nova Dagon, she'll need to think fast in order to stop them. But will that be enough?
