Now would be a good time to panic.

Yeah, that's right, we're really blowing our whole special effects budget on this scene! And it only gets worse from here. What, you thought we were going to set up that whole scenario and NOT blow shit up?! That would be anticlimactic! What's the point of doing a space disaster story without a space disaster!

The clock is officially ticking now for any last minute heroics. Sixty seconds may be a bit generous…

AUTHOR'S NOTES

It's never explicitly stated what kind of propulsion system the Diablo uses, but the fact that it uses some kind of (presumably electromagnetic) field generator suggests that it's some kind of fusion drive… or possibly (not likely) some kind of anti-matter drive.
