So romantic. Really gets ya right in the mid upper thoracic cavity. Gives you that warm feeling, like you just ate a big burrito really fast, or you had two plates of spaghetti. Yeah, that feeling. Magical stuff.




So, in case you didn't already know, the Event Horizon Telescope has captured the first ever image of the supermassive black hole at the center of our galaxy, which the National Science Foundation will be unveiling to the world today at 9 am Eastern Standard Time. Here's a link to the livestream where they'll be making the announcement, if you're interested in following it.

Wouldn't it be funny if they just showed an empty black photo? “Thank you, nothing else to see here! Move along now, folks. Where's our check? Give us ALL the funding!” Okay, actually I think it'll be pretty cool. I'll probably come back and post the image here whenever it's made available to the public, and here's a nifty video explaining what you should expect to see, and why it looks that way. That is, assuming it looks anything like what scientists expect.
