I have to admit, even though Bri is a rape victim and rape victims tend to come out understandably traumatized and upset… While I had been drawing these past few pages I felt some loathing for him. I knew Gabriel felt devastated, and that he lost more than most victims tend to, but his crying just made him seem pathetic to me.
And I guess maybe that is true in a way. If I were in his situation I'd be bawling too and I would be absolutely pathetic and I would know that I was pathetic. But Gabriel isn't me; he's Gabriel, the great Archangel Gabriel. And this last part is what I really must have been expecting of him and why I loathed him for crying before. Because I knew that he was braver and not really as vain as he acts.
Afterall, he just admitted all his mistakes and he's ready to face them. That's pretty big if you ask me.
And if Gabriel hadn't said this, Atila would have never given him the compact. I don't want you to judge her to harshly on the next page.
