This is symbolic of the year 1986.
I wasn't alive back then, but if I was, like, even as a baby. I would have cried. I mean… Robert looks like a total babe with short hair, but it is in no compare to his infamous bird's nest.

About the last two panels: I imagined that Gabriel's room would look like the one in The End of The World, so I got all smart alec-y on myself and got screen shot from the video of the room and put that as the pattern for the bed spread. You can see Mr. Smith in that panel actually but his head is cut off by the letter.

The three posters on the wall in the last panel are: The Cure's "Boys Don't Cry"; Souxsie and The Banshees ' US tour poster (don't know what year.); and The Glove's "Blue Sunshine" Poster.
