Wednesday was one of the worst days of the summer…and thursday was one of the best

As I'm sure I've said before many an author's comment, I am a student assistant at the library. Very little hours, very little pay…but it's enough to occassionally buy something nice, and to pay for my school books. On wednesday I was informed that Financial Aid ran out of money, and all of us assistants were being laid off. That would mean no convention next month, by the way. Limited cash supply due to vet bills, you understand.

Well, thursday I get a call and find out that though I'll have less hours, they've found some cash and re-hired a few of us. AND when I went to pick up this month's paycheck, expecting to find 300 dollars tops…I found out it was 429. Sadly, this is the most cash I've had in over a year. Am I happy? You betcha.

By the way, we are no longer doing the t-shirt thing at the con. We're going to be handing out bookmarks with candy tied onto them. On one side will be a never-before-seen Lurei strip, and on the other…A Trolling Around strip. But don't worry if you don't get to go to the con, because I'll be posting the strips up on the comic site just so you didn't miss out…though it will be the day after the Dallas Webcomics Expo, because we are doing an awful lot of driving that day.
