073: Welcome To Shady Grove

Hello again, TEO fans!

This weekend I came down with a terrible head cold– scratchy throat, dizziness, a stuffed up and runny nose (which I somehow always seem to manage), and what feels like a permanent ice-cream headache. As a result, I was rather dazed and/or delirious when I pencilled and inked this page, so forgive me if it doesn't look too great. The lack of color only emphasizes that fact– usually I use bright, pretty coloring to distract from my train-wreck drawings. This week, I can't get away with that sort of sleight-of-hand, thanks to the black-and-white universe that Lloyd seems to have landed in. (Bet you weren't expecting THAT one, were you?! Ha ha ha ha ha!!!) It's sort of hard to distinguish between the different shades of grey on the page, and I had a real awful time trying to translate color into black and white, so, ironically, I think that this page actually was harder to finish than the usual color ones. Anyways, the point is: Forgive me.

Also in the news: We just got Verizon FiOS cable television, referred to by myself before now as "rich people TV". We have, like, four hundred channels now. It's ridiculous. I don't know if I'll ever have a need for all of them, but I did get a real kick out of watching "Legends of the Lost Temple" on Nick GAS. (Remember that show? The one with the giant talking stone head and the retarded challenges, only at the end there was that gigantic obstacle course thing that was, like, frickin' impossible to get through in time? Remember? Remember???) I'm not a huge fan of television myself, but with this new variety of programming… well, now I'll have entirely new shows to be bored with.

Also in the news: T-shirts are still for sale. Pick one up before they're all gone!

Sincerely,

Ian Jay
