075: The Interstellar Con

Hey guys! This page was horrifyingly hard to get out, and the finished product isn't something I'm proud of, but I have to keep moving the story along. With three times the plot as the first book, Book Two of TEO is going to move three times as slow. (In the long run.) Plus I want to get back to Walt next week. Be happy that you got a page at all, okayyy?

I spent the vast majority of this weekend in Savannah, Georgia, scoping out the Savannah College of Art and Design. It's a great school– lots of choice equipment, more-than-competent staff, and wonderful old buildings (Savannah is known for being very historic, though this makes parking a real hassle)– but it is not so easy to get into. I'm really going to have to kick my efforts up a couple notches if I want to get into SCAD (and not totally bankrupt my family in the process– anyone out there know of any good art scholarships?).

Something else we learned in Savannah: Georgia smells. It smells unusual. We never figured out why. It just did.

In other news… I have a metric buttload of side projects I'm working on right now. And, of course, Starving Artists is probably going to hit me any day now. (Unless it shrivels up and dies before then. Again. It's probably really going to happen this time.) Plus there's the aforementioned college search. Things are pretty hectic for me right now. Luckily, my new James Kockalka CD, Spread Your Evil Wings And Fly, is helping alleviate the stress a little. Here's a music video for one of the songs on the CD, "Wash Your Ass".

Share and enjoy.

Sincerely,

Ian Jay
