Hey, guys! This week's page is kind of simplistic, I know, but it was a lot of fun to draw and fairly easy to color. I was surprised. It was like… like BAM! And done. I especially like Al's expressions in this one.

In comic-related news this week, check out my page for the first round of Endzone. Here's to hoping I get through to the next round! (Though seeing the works of some of the artists I would eventually be competing against, it'll be a wonder if I get very far…)

Also in comic-related news… have you seen Mazoo's futuristic sea creature design contest? Not only is it a neato-cool idea for a contest, but she is giving away prizes to the victors. Do it do it do it.

In other news… I'm not feeling as bad as I was in previous weeks. Still sort of bad, but not so much, I guess. I don't know. I do think I'm getting sick, though; I woke up this morning with a sore throat. I hope this won't ruin my fun at the San Diego Comic-Con, WHICH FOR YOUR INFOTAINMENT I AM GOING TO IS ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE GOING PLEASE COMMENT THANKS.

In conclusion… Here's an a capella rendition of the Killers' "Mr. Brightside", performed by Resonance, a vocal group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. (The lead singer is sort of a dip, but man, listen to those kids behind him, especially during the bridge.) I've recently sort of gotten into the a capella thing– it's really neat to hear these really full songs created only out of people's voices. Also check out the Carleton Singing Knights' version of Daft Punk's "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" and UC Berkley group DeCadence's version of Ben Folds' "Bitches Ain't Shit". (I'm not putting them as featured because I don't want to glut the Video Pick of the Week spot with a capella videos. Also, "Bitches Ain't Shit" has never been much of a work-friendly tune.)

Sincerely,

Ian Jay
