Hey, guys! Sorry this page is late. I've had one hell of a hectic weekend settling down in college– moving stuff in, getting ridiculously overpriced supplies for class, doing homework (homework on the first day of class is harsh enough, but outlining two chapters in our 2D Design textbooks? Ouch), and biking, biking, biking everywhere. Savannah isn't the best place for bikes, since, being a city, the streets have barely any shoulders for bikes to ride on, and many sidewalks have these ancient, ridiculously high stone curbs that are impossible to scale on any regular bike without causing the rider to flip over the handlebars and end up sprawled face-down upon the rough pavement, cars honking and people yelling behind him. (This… this I know from experience, in case you couldn't tell.) Add a gigantic 18 x 24 sketch pad into the mix, and you've got a recipe for disaster. …Plus it's hot here. Boy, is it ever hot. I don't see how some of these kids can wear long pants in weather like this.
…OF COURSE I'm probably making it sound (here and on that one whiny journal on DA that I posted last night; I'll have to change that) like SCAD is an awful place. It isn't. It's a lot of fun, the stuff we're learning in class is genuinely interesting, and the projects look like they might actually be enjoyable. I just have a lot of stuff to figure out right now, what with me only halfway into my first week. (But hey! I got my TEO page done! And though it isn't rife with pyrotechnics, it keeps the story moving.)
Sometime before or on Monday, expect another installment of Chimbley Sweep comics over at my DA page. The stakes just keep risin' and risin' over in Endzone.
ALSO! IMPORTANT! Do any readers live in or near Savannah? If so, we should hang out sometime. Drop me a line.
As for now, I'm gonna dash back out to Primary Art Supply to pick up some fancy vellum paper and a circle template, but before I go, in conclusion… Vidiot's "Mindbullet". This is only a short little project he did for class, but I love it.
