127: Love Is In The Air

It's strange– the universe seems to be collapsing in on itself to prevent me from finishing TEO. I had trouble finding a Mac copy of Adobe Photoshop, to start with– I tried downloading Corel Painter 9 for free from the SCAD site, but working with that program is like drawing with my hand sewn on backwards, I'm sorry. And then I had to figure out my new Wacom tablet, which is miles away from how my old tablet laptop used to function (I'm still so amazed by how the line width varies depending on how hard you press down. Technology is just blowing my mind here). Then, of all things that could go wrong, I got this crazy painful stomach pain thing yesterday, and the subsequent (somewhat frightening) trip to the medical center ate up an afternoon that I would've otherwise used to finish TEO. And now it appears that I can't connect to TEO's FTP server, meaning I can't upload a comic on my main TEO site. Wonderful. Peachy. Hooray.

The upshot of all this is, of course, is that you DD folks will be seeing this page before anyone who regularly checks the main page does. Even though it's late. Bear with me, people.

Anyways, I'm back at college now, and things couldn't be better. Hanging out with old friends, working on projects, getting back into clubs… hell, I could live like this all the time if it weren't for the dang classes (and all those ridiculous art supplies). However, as I've stated before, I won't be leaving TEO to die like last semester. I've got something very big in the works, and I don't want to screw up and blow the whole deal to pieces before then.

In conclusion… the music video to Menomena's single "Evil Bee". I've been a fan of Menomena for a good while, but I hadn't seen their music video for this song until now. Between the vomiting bees, oppressive tank-birds, and the overarcing theme of dreams as escape against mechanistic conformity, it is a stunner, let me tell you.

See you next week, kids!

Sincerely,

Ian Jay
