Page 18 - a new lesson

I love how Jaith looks all like "we won't?" in the last panel.
I lied about having the new sites up this week. Apparently I'm not as good at getting to stuff as I thought I was. *sigh* I shall endeavor to get them up next week.

Lotsa text on this page. I had a hard time fitting it all in, but ultimately I think it came out all right. This particular page probably isn't one of my strongest, but I like having to do these static, conversational scenes because they're a lot harder to draw. After all, how does one make talking look interesting?
If you're new to TM and looking for an actiony comic, I will say look elsewhere. This comes up not because anyone commented on it, but because I noticed myself how long it really is until there's anything really happening in this. Not that that's a bad thing, I'm more interested in charactterization, so I want to make sure characters and their relationships are fleshed out a bit before we take them out into the world at large. And they WILL go out into the world, but it's gonna be AGES before that happens. I like to think that what I have planned is interesting, but I always plot out a lot more than I actually use (see previous Author's notes) and sometimes I include a lot of useless information that doesn't really advance anything, so feel free to let me know if I'm dragging.

In other news, Jaith can really be a pain to draw with that marking over his forehead. In black and white like this, I have to be careful that it doesn't mess with his expressions since it goes along his eyebrow. Sometimes he looks mad when he's not, so if that ever happens, it's entirely accidental. I'm watching for it!
