Page 1 - adjusting

I actually really like the way this page looks. It came out pretty much how I imagined it…which is wierd, because usually, I have ridiculously high expectations for myself XD. But I'm happy with it.
I just had him sweeping the floor because I wasn't entirely sure what cleaning a horse barn entails, and I figured that was a nice generic job…though I do know from experience that the smell of a horse barn is something of an acquired taste…

So, yeah, he's adjusting to his new role quite nicely, don't you think? I like to think that at heart he's just more the sort to want to do the work himself. Maybe it comes from his common ancestry, but I don't view him as ever really being suited to being a noble. And here, in this undeniably crappy situation, he's not all that put-out. I imagine it's the first time he's really just done an honest days work. I'm kind of like that, I'd much rather do yard work than paper work, with the physical stuff, your mind can be elsewhere and yet you still get it done.

You may be asking yourself "why are they boetheri? They look different, but they still act just like humans." Yeah, I know they aren't really acting much different from humanity, That's because humans trained it out of them. They really aren't using the boetheri to their full potential the way they used to. Later on in the story, we'll get into the boetheri acting like boetheri, rather than acting like humans as they do here, but we're still in the development stage at present.
Thanks for your patience.
And see you next week.
