I don't like this page…ech. I don't even want to talk about how long panel 2 took (making Bradley smile pleasantly was the most difficult thing ever, he justkept looking meniacal. When i finally go this one I was like "screw it! I'm done!") I kinda like panel 3, and panel 1 is okay. Panels 2 and 4 though I can just toss.
Next page looks pretty good though.

Now let's see: what did Tren use to take for "true" that has since been proven otherwise?
- Ralla is a sweet and loving girl
- Boetheri are good natured and obediant
- Bradley is a pompous jerk (well, he is, but he's a good pompous jerk XD)

As for the reading thing, the reason it's so startling isn't just that people don't waste their time teaching how to read to slaves, it's because slave owners would go out of their way to ensure their slaves couldn't read. Why? Because the ability to read is power. It's an old practice. Hammurabi's code for instance. Why did they write down the laws when no one then could read? Because the people who COULD read it had the power to control those laws. You don't want the people you're controlling to have that power.
A slave that can read is one of the rarest things Bradley has ever encountered.
