I was looking through the archives and I noticed that I used to actually draw backgrounds. Some pretty neat ones too. It's sad what my change in my schedule has done to this comic that I had so many hopes for. (working two jobs sucks royally, 'specially when the boss won't let em draw at work anymore) So I'm going to try to pick up the pace a bit. This page I spent a bit more time and care on and I'm pretty pleased with it. I think I might experiment with changing the inking a bit once the scene changes (don't wanna change mid-scene, that would just be silly ^_^) make it a bit more simple and gestural, not make the shading so heavy. I tried some stuff on this one: thinner panel borders and I used the brush pen to draw the background in panel 2. I like the effect that pen has, all lines look so caligraphic, so I might use that more often on backgrounds. Despite all the changes I've made, I still ink this like I ink FFC, and that's still a mistake. I need to get my head out of that rut. Old habits die hard, but I'll do my best, and hopefully that will make the inking process quicker too. Ease my stress a bit.

Anyway (does anyone else think I talk too much in these things? Oh well) Not much to say on this page. It's pretty self-explanitory. Nobody noticed on last page where Jaith's text ran off the page (I didn't either until well after it was posted) I guess our brains just filled in the blanks. Another fine example of gestalt at work, I guess ^_^; I'll have to fix that eventually. I had a hard time desinging the female boetheri costumes here. Serving girl costumes are usually kinda revealing but a) that wouldn't have fit well with the male's costumes and b) the boetheri are seen as beasts and while there ARE some humans who are into that sort of thing, it's not something you'd want to broadcast. So I settled on an altered version of the males' costumes. Tai's suit has a different collar and is lacking the shoulder thingies. But is basically the same. It might be a different color too, but who knows? XD
