What happened to Jaith?! You'll just have to wait a bit ;) Why? 'cuz I'm eeeeevil.

First mention of one of the other languages. Angrean, the elves' tongue. You'll be hearding elvish words here and there all over the place, but you won't hear it too much in conversation. However, what you WILL hear in conversation is the Boetheri language (which I don't have a name for yet…or rather, I DO, I'm just not sure I like it) I've actually begun formulating the boetheri language even though you're not going to hear for ages. I had initially considered asking one of my more language savvy friends to put it together for me, but then I though "Nah, TM is MY baby…has been from the start. I'll be happier if I do it myself." Currently I've mostly been putting together the grammar, because honestly that's the biggest obstacle. But I do have a few common words plotted out: what, you, he/she, I/me, they/them, is/are, were/was, yes, no, and the numbers from one to ten. Things that seem to be common to most languages. You won't hear it for ages though because none of the slaves know their native language - not even Jaith who is more culturaly aware than the others - it's been…well…beaten out of them. You won't hear the elves' language conversationally because anyone of any importance who knows Angrean also knows the human tongue and will be too concerned with being understood to talk in other languages generally.

Oh, and if you're wondering about Bradley's little smile in panel 2 it's because among humans Angrean is more or less a dead language. It's rare to find someone who knows it even among nobles. It'd be really telling if he had any knowledge of how much of the language Nareth knew…but that sort of thing doesn't really come up in conversation I guess. Thus it mostly becomes another oddity for Bradley to file away.

Not as happy with the art on this one…not sure why I flubbed it. It wasn't laziness or rushing I don't think…it just…didn't work out… *le sigh*
