There just didn't seem to be much reason to spend the time on their travel there, especially since the village is fairly close by.

I don't think this page scanned very well, though, and it makes me a bit sad, as I like the drawing on this page, and really wanted the reveal to be majestic. It still is, I hope, but the lines scanned rather choppy…I've never been off the North American continent, so I didn't really have a good basis in regard to the elven ruins as I imagined them - bit of a Western Civ style, as you can kinda tell by the columns, and the arcade I drew in an earlier image. I have, however, been to Mayan ruins in Mexico, so while that didn't help much for the style, it did help for the feel of the ruins, and the sort of decay it might have. These cities haven't sat for nearly as long, only a few generations, which wouldn't even be 200 years, so they wouldn't be in the same state as the Mayan ruins, but it helped me to think of how things might break apart and collapse. A recent interest in ghost towns has helped quite a bit too. How much would have changed in this time? For the most part, these cities should still be intact, there wouldn't be MUCH decay, but as this city is in the middle of land that is conquered by humans, it likely saw its share of violence before the end.
If you're wondering why it is Bradley is coughing in the first panel, it's in reference to Nareth saying that they stayed in the town because it was "easier" when he knows there was another reason. Sort of a subtle way of calling bullshit.

In other news, drawing ruins is damned hard XD

Thanks for reading! See you next week!
