TAKUMI'S CAKE IS SAD!

So now that I'm feeling more social today..
How was everyone's thanksgiving!!?
(Even if you don't celebrate it..)

Mine was so awesome. My friend from Japan came over. She's been studying abroad in Texas but she hasn't really been able to get a chance to get out and explore America so it was absolutely wonderful being able to show her around. I love just thinking - I am a part of someone's impression of this world. I am responsible for representing my culture.
So I showed her a lot of things she's never seen before and she totally freaked at some things.. It was so fun. Some examples…
- Speed limits are 75 mph on highways
- Being able to look around the world as far as the eye can see, all the way to the horizon. Apparently, she'd never seen the horizon before!
- Bird nests in trees
- Mountains. (The REAL kind.)
- The snow on the mountains.
- Mac and Cheese. (America's Legacy)
- Dinosaur footprints
- A reservoir
- Boulders
- Wild rabbits
- Farms
- Cows
- Sweet Potatoes
- Curse words
- American TV

We had so much fun. Her favorite moment was when I drove her to the top of a mountain (it wasn't even a very big mountain..) and she was so happy she started screaming.

My favorite moment was sitting in front of the TV and every time she didn't know a word, I'd tell her what it meant, and then she'd tell me how to say it in Japanese, and we both made lists of words to learn and practiced them.

Wow I'm such a nerd..

So then, I started walking in that direction.. I must have passed by the store like three times 'cause I couldn't find it..
Then I went to the post office, then walked back to try again.. Just because it was nice out and I needed the exersize.. And there it was - right where you said it would be! Gah I'm dumb.

Animegal - Aah, that would be nice. I spent all week doing things and had no time really to get any drawing done… sigh. And now my break is over.
