So I held a DNA Day Voice at my school, where the students could come and try to talk about DNA in English. I gave them some figures, then brought up the whole Nature vs. Nurture debate. I told them my favorite quote by Thomas Murray, which no one could decipher.. Ah, some people are fluent in everyday English, but when we write, we tend to use more colorful language so that even the simplest things become confusing if you're not a native speaker… How do you explain a metaphor to someone who has no cultural background for what you're talking about? (And on a further note, that sentence that I just wrote would be impossible for some students to understand.)

Alej - Yeah I went to a Union Meeting.. basically it's like two hours of people bickering. So I always sit at the back and bring my comic script. It's a great excuse to get a lot done. And because psychologically I know I can't get out of this, and have no where to go, I end up making my pages look really nice.

hoya - Aw that's okay. Actually for my firs DNA Day contest, I sorta forced all my friends to enter whether they cound draw or not and they came up with some neat stuff! Like this. It's the thought that counts, right??
