I have certain doubts about portraying Oscar as a loser and a clown, and perhaps by extension denigrating guys in general.
There are a LOT of portrayals of guys these days that put them down. Contributing to guys feeling down on themselves is not what I stand for…
Denigrating WOMEN is not good either, but that's not the subject at hand right now.
This series, and this character, was established before I really perceived these problems in my culture. If I were developing it now, I may have done it differently.
Having said that, being true to these characters IS what it's all about. And Oscar has particular issues. So that has to be explored honestly (well, in a simplified/exaggerated cartoon way, but honestly).
P.S.  I DON'T consider Oscar a loser, despite what these folks are saying about him.
