Longest authors notes. EVER!

Let me give you a bit of insider information about this comic page.

I originally wanted this page to be the very first part of our zombie storyline. At the time, it was more geared towards mystery than humour. It was going to be told with narration while the real Tarantino was doing his business. The rest of the team didn't really think the idea was as awesome as I did, so I reluctantly caved in (I'm very stubborn) and we made the first comic the one with us watching TV.

I was still fighting to get this one done in flashback form. They always cringed when I brought it up… er… or as close as you can get to a cringe over MSN. To be honest, the story was kind of complex and unfunny, so I can see why they weren't too keen on it.

Eventually, I think Rob and Irene just got sick of me pushing for this one, so they let me do it to shut me up. I argued with them the most (I dunno where Dez was, probably off having a life or something). It makes me sad when my co-writers don't like my ideas, so I spent a lot of time thinking about how to improve this one. Just as we were about to start doing layouts for this page I suggested we make it Irene putting on a puppet show. Obviously, with the end result, you can see they went for it.

So I guess, it went from being a potentially crap comic, to something (that me, and the rest of the team, I believe) think is one of our funniest. It's a good thing the rest of the team doesn't always automatically agree with me, it often makes for better comics.

And THAT is what we go through to bring you Ultimate X. *WHEW!*

In other news, one of my old teachers from Uni last year rang me yesterday to say they want to enter my major project thing into a competition. I think it's going into the best animation and multimedia categories. So, wish me luck!

ALSO… going to see Transformers tomorrow!!! Australia gets it a week before the US for some reason. Woot!
