I have a few large photos of clouds I had printed out that I use for backgrounds. I prefer to capture as much of an image as possible in camera, since for my money, half the fun of LEGO art is knowing that somebody actually built it. This time, however, I composited in the sunrise with Photoshop. It definitely doesn’t look as crisp, but it works well enough in my opinion.

I took the picture of the sunrise from my dorm window in my first year at college. It’s actually a sunset, but whatever.
