"Dismal Downs" is the name of the ancestral land of Scrooge McDuck and his family. Most people know Uncle Scrooge from DuckTales, but I got to know the character through his long and storied history in comic books. Some of the best Uncle Scrooge content is the 12 part The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, a globe-trotting epic detailing the life story of the character. The stories make for a much more interesting and nuanced interpretation of Scrooge than what most people are familiar with.
