For those who haven't seen The Incredibles, Edna Mode strongly opposes the use of capes because they frequently cause the death of heroes who wear them.

I’ve always been fond of Edna, partially because she is voiced by the director of The Incredibles, Brad Bird. Apparently Edna was going to be voiced by Lily Tomlin at one point, but Tomlin said that Bird’s voice was better.
