Echo is of no relation to the Marvel Comics character of the same name. She is named after the concept of an echo fighter, a character in a fighting game that has the same moveset as another character, but looks different. I considered trying to find another name that hadn’t already been taken, but I don’t think there’s a concept that more accurately conveys the conceit of the character.
