The tactics in this chapter were somewhat inspired by MACV-SOG , a unit that conducted dangerous missions behind enemy lines in the Vietnam War. Because this unit could not sustain direct combat for long due to their small numbers, they relied on stealth and strategic use of mines to avoid NVA and Viet Cong trackers.
