When designing characters, I like to use heads with alternate expressions if possible, as it helps the characters express emotion better. Yeah, I could just use a different head with a mostly similar expression, but doing so never sat right with me. Characters like Mindy and Robin have two expressions that cover basically everything I need them to do. But thanks to my having multiple heads for the same LEGO Movie character, Penelope can make five different facial expressions. In panel 1, you can see her with her newest head.
